Few artists — in any genre of music — have done more to expand the horizons of their instrument than the banjo wizard Béla Fleck. With a total Grammy Award count of 14 won and 30 nominations, he has been nominated in more categories than any instrumentalist in Grammy history. His ensembles and collaborations are wide-ranging and exceptional — the Flecktones, his duo with wife Abigail Washburn, work with the NYC ensemble the Knights, projects with Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer, to name a few — and run the gamut from bluegrass to jazz to classical and beyond. He’s here to perform a solo set, a format that puts a laser-like focus on his unique affinity for the five strings. Prepare your ears!
