Alternately known as the King of Telluride and the King of Newgrass, Grammy-winning mandolin player Sam Bush has perhaps more than any living musician helped to expand the horizons of bluegrass music, fusing it with jazz, rock, blues, funk, and other styles. He’s the co-founder of the genre-bending New Grass Revival and a player who has collaborated with everyone from Emmylou Harris and Béla Fleck to Charlie Haden, Lyle Lovett, and Garth Brooks. Bush has become an icon at a young age, and is in many ways at the center of the evolving bluegrass universe—a link between the roots of the genre and its emerging future. We’re thrilled to invite him back for a second autumn at FreshGrass.
