Self-proclaimed friendly folkster Izzy Heltai is a local favorite, a frequent performer at cafés and open mics around the Berkshires, and an artist on Western Mass.-based record label Sounds and Tones. Influenced by indie-folk acts such as The Milk Carton Kids and The Avett Brothers, Heltai’s Dylan-esque, talkie songs of optimistic heartbreak are a refreshing, earthy spin on modern folk.
