storyIrish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard has loomed large in music and film for over thirty years. With The Frames, he released six records of pitch-perfect folk rock, shaping the Dublin indie scene through the ’90s and early 2000s. His duo, The Swell Season, found a wider international audience when it starred in the popular 2007 musical film Once, and Hansard’s role in composing and performing the memorable soundtrack earned him an Academy Award for Best Song along with dozens of other nominations. He visits with a new record of solo material, which Consequence of Sound calls “surges of white-hot honesty delivered in Hansard’s spoonful of sugar timbre.”
